I do believe that Modernist Australia could well break the internet with this one.
The local mid-century realestate scene has been a little quiet and it has been a long time since I posted a ‘property of the week’. After a period where we have sadly lost a couple of great Beaumaris modernist homes, it was with a sense of wonder that I read about this amazing home on the MA page!
This is one of those homes that you walk past a million times and dream of one day having a look inside. From the amazing bush garden setting of the front yard, to the immaculate thin lines of brickwork and even authentic vintage cars in the carport. This place has it all for lovers of mid-century style!
The MA team has really done their homework with this one (either that or they really know their stuff!) and have provided some background on the architect Ron G. Monsborough and his other work.
The usual light flooded living areas via the floor to ceiling windows abound linking inside and out, and the floorplan has a wonderful flow that creates great separation between entertaining and private spaces.
The kitchen is immaculate and original and there is really no need to touch a thing if you were to move into this place!
Even the bathroom is in very good and authentic shape. What is not to love about brown mosaic tiles?
Not many photos of the garden but they appear to be neat and tidy, with stretches of lawn and clean border planting.
The plans reveal different garden ‘rooms’ to either side of the house which provide great potential to develop an amazing modernist landscape to suit your lifestyle.
This stunning home is up for auction in August, so don’t mess around! Get yourself down to an amazing part of Melbourne and have a look at this true Beaumaris modernist!
(Maybe even buy it if you want)
