Ok, so I need to be upfront and honest here.
I AM SORRY
I actually spotted this house on the market a couple of weeks ago and even went to the first open for inspection. It looked great on paper and even better in person. So why then didn’t I post it here? It clearly ticked all the boxes as a great Australian MCM home and should be advertised to fans of modernist design.
Selfishly, I did in fact have a thought that I could buy this home myself so I didn’t want to make things harder in what is a very competitive Melbourne real estate market!
For that I am sorry and now (having realised that it won’t work for us) I would love to present this home as our MCM Property of the Week.
While it is a strange shaped block, the home and garden work really well together. The entire garden is private and sits behind a tall fence. The entry path takes you through the garden and outdoor terrace to the front door which gives plenty of opportunity for a great entertaining space.
The living room could do with some new carpet, however the timber panelling, cabinetry and built-in bar are fantastic and in very solid condition.
I loved this room. It would be a great family space and connects well to both the kitchen and the garden outside.
As always, with MCM homes there is so much natural light with floor to ceiling windows towards the garden and highlight windows for privacy towards neighbours.
Plenty of fun to be had in the garden too with some great canopy trees providing shade and a good sized lawn area!
Once again, I am sorry for holding back on this home, but if you like the look of it you had better be quick, as it goes to AUCTION TOMORROW!
