I mainly concentrate on MCM homes in the Beaumaris area, but to be honest there doesn’t seem to be too many gems on the market at the moment. Maybe I’m not looking hard enough!
So today’s home is a great find by Modernist Australia and takes us all the way down to the greater Geelong area!
I love the brickwork and the clean simple lines of this home. The front yard works so well with its minimal style and all it needs are some additional feature plants around the letterbox.
The porch extends across in front of the living room and gives the home a really solid and sturdy feeling. That must be reassuring for prospective buyers, as unfortunately some MCM homes appear less than solid and attract too many ‘knock down’ ideas.
The diving wall between the entrance / living room and the dining / kitchen features some great timber panelling and a masonry mantle piece and planters. You can just see an amazing Monstera deliciosa growing there with cocktail party guests milling about!
So often these homes are just so simple and practical that it just looks great. Even with original lino tiles and laminate bench tops!
Plenty of room for activities in the kid’s bedroom and just check out the colours of the bathroom to get you up and going on a Monday morning!
So that’s it. I’m moving down to Geelong.
I haven’t mentioned the price yet, so once you check that out you’re bound to be heading down yourself!
